Ok. So it’s been a month since I put out a podcast. I haven’t forgotten about it but in my defense my personal, professional, and Second lives are all fucked up beyond belief.

I’m going to do another one someday, I promise.

Before we get started I realize this should be numbered 3 but I’m going to screw with everbody and, in keeping with the binariness of Snowcrash, I’m numbering my episodes in powers of 2 so this episode is 2^2 or 4. So there.

The House

We decided to break into a large place that is a group owned rental. Lojak is harsh in his assessment of the decorating. Ziggy liked the textures they used but that was about it. Lojak is creeped out by the artwork displayed throughout the house. Squeamish or easily offended listeners be forewarned.

Noobie Tips

Noobie tips is replaced, perhaps temporarily or not, with Food Critic, in which Lojak reviews dining opportunities in SL. In the first segment, Lojak and Ziggy go to the Garden Terrace in Sterling Grove sim at 141,95,22. They have a really good time and recommend Garden Terrace as an extra cool place for a date.

Main

Lojak continues a long string of rants because he can’t seem to find the time to interview anybody. Instead he talks about SLIM which is a lightweight client that will, one day, allow you to communicate with people in world without running the full viewer. But all is not what it seems…..

Show Notes

Breaking and Entering - Lojak brings along Ziggy again and they break into Nahaohm’s Roman Villa. They explore the outside and marvel at the incredible textures used in the build.  Both comment on the palm trees outside.

The first room they go into is a dungeon of a sort and they move quickly to the next room which is a living room of sorts.  Across the breezeway they enter the main hall which is done in lovely pink marble and contains the first of two grand pianos in the house.

On the second flood, (that’s the first floor for you Tele), Ziggy and Lojak discovered the library and adjacent to it another lounging area with a really, really nice couch. Then Ziggy played the piano for Lojak. Across the hall, they found a bedroom which had all the sorts of things you would expect to find in an SL bedroom

They journeyed onto the roof and found a garden on one side and a swimming pool on the other. After Ziggy left, Lojak discovered a teleporter to a secret room.

Lovely house you have there, folks.

Newbie Tips - Lojak asks new people to please edit their profiles in order to help other people get to know them. Although he just bitches about it and doesn’t really tell you how, here’s Torley Linden’s excellent Video Tutorial on how to Edit your profile:

Main - Lojak has yet to schedule any actual guests for the show so he talks about the post of the SL Blog about Mainland land and how zoning is going to become a reality and why, for owners of mainland parcels liek himself, this is not a bad thing.

Lojak talks about how noobies can get L$, camping, dancing in clubs, and working as an escort… or not, how about a credit card?. He talks about how to live on not very much in SL. He suggests trying to start with Free items and talking to SL Mentors about good freebie LMs.

I attended Tele and Amanita’ s wedding last night (in fact I was the best man) and it went perfectly. The bride was radiant (you’re required to say that aren’t you?  Why, exactly, are brides always radiant?) and the Maid of Honor was stunning beyond words. The reception was held immediately after where there was cake and dancing. I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t think of it. I know there were official pictures being taken but I haven’t seen any of them yet.  What a ‘tard. I took a picture I just didn’t remember. Here it is. -lt

Hi. Thanks for taking the time. This is the website for the podcast called Breaking and Entering. It’s a podcast about Second Life. My name’s Lojak Taliaferro (it’s pronounced Tolliver, go ahead look it up, I’ll wait) and I’m the host of Breaking and Entering.
